My journey began when I was only 6 years old when I learned to hold the first mechanical pencil that my mother gave me. The first character that inspired me was Shijuka in the 1990 Doraemon comic that was very popular in Vietnam. My father brought back sheets of defective printing paper, they had one side white, and I could draw comfortably.
Days after day, year after year. I grew up with a passion for drawing everything in my imagination.
23-year-old, I graduated from an art school and started an office job after graduation. Life swept me with new ambitions, and I left the brush and color for 10 years.
During that time, I only occasionally drew sketches on notebooks. I was so busy with life.
In June 2018, I was introduced by a friend to an Apple pencil drawing on an iPad. It was such a glint in my head; my passion for drawing lives so strongly that I always feel compelled that if I don’t pursue it, my whole life will regret it. And I realized that I had to become an illustrator. I have persevered in practicing, and a year after holding an Apple pencil, I have completed successful projects.
I am proud and happy to do my passionate and proactive work. I hope I can maintain this job for as long as possible, maybe until I’m old ^^~~~
